The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force on 25th May 2018 and requires that all businesses issue a privacy statement to all clients and contacts, regarding the data held about the individual.

  1. Piano Lessons with Mrs Ekatherina Waterfield is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Mrs Ekatherina Waterfield is the Data Protection Officer (or ‘controller’) of your data.
  2. Data Held
    1. Data held includes personal contact information, date of birth (students under 16), information about each student’s piano education, e.g. progress, objectives, exam results and tracking against goals. The only data held is that needed to provide the services you engage me in.
  3. What I do with it
    1. Contact information is used for scheduling, invoicing, record keeping, communicating children’s ongoing successes, and directional guidance with practise at home.
    2. Invoices are processed personally by me (Mrs Ekatherina Waterfield) and are not outsourced to external companies.
    3. Some information will be shared with the examination boards if you or your child wish to enter for exams.  This is usually restricted to date of birth. If any other information is required, (e.g. information regarding special educational needs, prior consent will be sought).
    4. No other data will be shared unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
    5. All reasonable steps are taken to ensure your data is processed and stored securely.
  4. Individual Rights to the Data Held
    1. If you wish to change or delete the information I hold about you or your child, or if you have any concerns about your data, please contact me directly.
